Kigen Automotive’s eSIM Becomes the First to Obtain GSMA eSA Certification, Introducing SGP.32 Security for Connected Vehicle Manufacturers with Long-Lasting Fleets

Kigen Achieves Industry-First eSA Certification for Automotive eSIMs

CAMBRIDGE, UNITED KINGDOM – 29 September 2026 – Kigen, a leading player in eSIM and iSIM technology, has reached a significant milestone by obtaining GSMA eUICC Security Assurance (eSA) certification for its new Automotive eSIMs. This makes Kigen the first in the industry to offer eSA-certified eSIMs that support the latest SGP.32 v1.3, GSMA’s IoT eSIM (eUICC) specification.

This cutting-edge certification merges Kigen’s eSIM OS with Infineon’s TEGRION™ SLI22 automotive security controller, ensuring that connected-vehicle OEMs and Tier-1 manufacturers have a robust platform to maintain security for over a decade.

Kigen’s Automotive eSIM introduces enhanced features including emergency profile support, streamlined integration for Telematics Control Units, and a unified architecture that promises improved security across a range of connected vehicles. This lays a strong foundation for OEMs preparing to face the challenges posed by quantum computing in the future.

The new automotive eSIM is part of a broader portfolio that consists of the SLI22 for automotive applications, SLC22 for consumer devices, and SLM22 for Industrial IoT, all sharing a common OS, hardware platform, and management tools.

Kigen’s implementation supports enhancements to SGP.32 v1.3, published in May 2026, which include features such as direct and indirect profile downloads and digital activation codes tailored for connected vehicles.

Post-quantum cryptography (PQC) is also integrated into Kigen’s offerings, allowing manufacturers to prepare for long-term security threats, combining classical and quantum-safe algorithms.

Kigen’s overarching eSIM solution includes certifications for SAS-UP (manufacturing) and SAS-SM (subscription management), alongside its remote management capabilities. This extensive network makes deployment easier across a variety of international vehicle markets.

The new Automotive eSIMs will be available for OEM sampling from October 2026, with interested parties encouraged to request samples through Kigen’s website.
