Foxchase Tavern Set to Open in NE Portland
Formerly known as Take Two/Toyshop Ramen, the new establishment will be called Foxchase Tavern, located along NE Killingsworth. Recent chatter and a liquor license application have revealed that this name pays homage to the historical Foxchase Addition, a subdivision created in 1889.
Significance of the Name
Foxchase was a subdivision in the Concordia neighborhood and is still marked on modern maps. Maps indicate its historical importance, highlighting a neighborhood that reflects Portland’s evolving identity.

Connection to Tinker Tavern
Erik Mahan, known for opening Tinker Tavern in the Montavilla neighborhood during the COVID pandemic, is behind this new project. Tinker Tavern has established a reputation for its Buffalo-inspired bar food, leaving patrons curious if Foxchase will follow suit.
Current Status
As of now, no significant renovations or permits have been filed for Foxchase Tavern, which suggests a smooth transition from the previous bar. There’s currently a dumpster outside, signaling some preliminary preparations.
