UCF Women’s Soccer Secures 2-0 Victory in Annual Space Game Against No. 17 Colorado | Sports

The UCF women’s soccer team recently achieved a significant victory, defeating the No. 17-ranked Colorado Buffaloes 2-0 at the UCF Soccer Complex. This win came after two road losses and marked their first Big 12 Conference victory of the season.

Head coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak emphasized the importance of returning home for this match, expressing her confidence in the team’s ability to bounce back. “I’m really glad that we bounced back after a rough Utah weekend,” she stated, acknowledging Colorado’s strength as a competitor.

Junior forward Alysiah Lockette opened the scoring for UCF in the 14th minute, followed by senior forward Naomi Clark, who scored her ninth goal of the season around the 51st minute. The Knights managed to maintain control of the game, limiting Colorado to just three shots after Clark’s goal.

UCF’s defense was solid, with junior goalkeeper Kaïna Cesar achieving a clean sheet by saving all four shots on goal. UCF outshot Colorado 14-8 overall, showing their offensive dominance.

Looking forward, Roberts Sahaydak hopes the team can carry this momentum into their next match against the reigning Big 12 champion TCU Horned Frogs. The Knights will face TCU on Thursday at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.
