A tragic 14-car crash on West Chester Pike resulted in the death of a man in his 60s and multiple injuries on Saturday afternoon. Authorities reported that the incident began shortly after noon when the man, who was driving a pickup truck, started exhibiting erratic behavior that suggested he may have suffered a medical episode. His vehicle collided with others in the westbound lanes over nearly two miles, ultimately flipping after striking a U-Haul and a Prius near Eagle Road.
Witness Al Gunaydin, owner of a nearby cafe, described the shocking scene, noting that the truck became airborne upon impact. Despite the chaos, where 14 vehicles were involved in total, eight people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The man from Havertown was pronounced dead at the scene.
