NASA Delays Crew-12 Departure from the International Space Station

NASA Pushes Back Crew-12 Departure From International Space Station

Washington, October 04 (QNA) – NASA has announced that the return of the Crew-12 crew from the International Space Station (ISS) to Earth has been delayed until Wednesday due to unfavorable weather conditions.

In a statement, NASA stated that after reviewing the weather conditions and sea states in the splashdown area off the coast of California, a new splahdown date has been set for Wednesday, Oct. 7, with timing no earlier than previously scheduled.

If the new timeline holds, the crew is expected to splash down in the Pacific Ocean on Thursday and will then be transported to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.

Originally, the Crew-12 spacecraft was set to undock from the ISS on Monday after the crew spent approximately eight months aboard the orbital laboratory. Launched on February 13, the spacecraft has now remained in orbit longer than initially planned. Notably, it set a record on September 3 for the longest spaceflight by European astronauts, surpassing 230 days.
