Texarkana’s Oktoberfest Showcases Local Cuisine, Culture, and Music with a Touch of German Charm | State

Third Annual Oktoberfest in Texarkana

TEXARKANA, Ark. — The Third Annual Oktoberfest was held at Front Street Plaza, hosted by Main Street Texarkana. The event showcased a blend of local food, culture, and live music infused with a German flair.

Main Street Executive Director, Ina McDowell, commended the approximately 50 volunteers whose efforts contributed to the event’s success.

Last year attracted over 2,000 attendees, prompting the move to Front Street Festival Plaza for better access to live performances and expanded activities. The new location offered space for exotic animals, a petting zoo, and various games for children.

In a heartfelt tribute, McDowell dedicated this year’s event to the late Bill Scurlock, a significant supporter of Main Street Texarkana and owner of the Pecan Point Restaurant, recognizing his lasting impact on the community.
