The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, carrying Crew-13 to the International Space Station (ISS). This crew consists of two NASA astronauts, a Russian cosmonaut, and a Canadian astronaut, who will soon welcome their third child while they’re on their mission—marking the fourth instance in space travel history where a child is born while one parent is in space.
Initially scheduled for mid-September, the launch was delayed to replace a valve in the Crew Dragon’s propulsion system. The journey to the ISS will take approximately 7 hours and 50 minutes, where the crew will conduct experiments and research aimed at future missions to the Moon and Mars.
