A driver was arrested following a violent eight-car crash in Oxnard that resulted in two fatalities and several injuries. The incident occurred on September 25 at about 3:55 p.m. at Victoria Avenue and Doris Avenue.
Upon investigation, authorities found eight vehicles involved—four of which sustained major damage. Two cars, a 1998 Toyota Avalon and a 2005 Honda Civic, had drivers trapped inside and were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims were men aged 58 and 31 from Oxnard, whose identities have not yet been released.
Authorities indicated that the driver of a 2018 GMC Sierra pickup truck, David Mora, 29, allegedly ran a red light, leading to the collision with the Honda and Toyota, both traveling westbound. Mora turned himself in to the Oxnard Police Department on Friday night and was booked for vehicular homicide. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Traffic Investigator Joseph Clark at 805-385-7750.
