Meet Barkley!
Say hello to Barkley, one of our longest-staying residents here at Char-Wills! This fun-loving and intelligent boy is simply waiting for the perfect person to discover what makes him so special.
Barkley arrived on July 15 from a New Jersey shelter after being found as a stray, leaving us with plenty to learn about him. Since then, we’ve found that he absolutely loves playing ball—he’ll keep going until he drops! He also enjoys splashing in kiddie pools and chasing after the hose. While Barkley can be a little aloof at first when meeting new people, his goofy personality shines through once he learns to trust you.
We believe Barkley would thrive best with an experienced German Shepherd owner who has a confident and consistent approach. He may prefer being the only dog in the home, although he could be dog-selective. Due to his high ball drive, a home without cats would be ideal.
Barkley knows his basic commands and is currently enrolled in our Prison Training Program, where he’s honing his obedience, leash skills, crate training, and house manners. He is expected to return to us this week and will then be available to meet prospective adopters.
If Barkley sounds like the special boy you’ve been waiting for, submit an application through www.charwillsrescue.com!
Note: Please call to check the availability of featured pets. All shelters and rescue organizations receive new animals daily, so while a featured pet may have been adopted, there are many more waiting for homes.
