Wilson Pipe & Fabrication is set to invest $3.5 million to expand its facility in Norfolk, responding to increased demand from government and commercial clients. This expansion will more than quadruple their space and create 15 advanced manufacturing jobs.
Governor Abigail Spanberger highlighted that this move will not only bolster the maritime and industrial workforce in Hampton Roads but also enhance apprenticeship opportunities for Virginians, fostering long-term careers in skilled trades.
Founded in 2016 by Brandon Wilson, a native of Hampton Roads, the company specializes in pipefitting, welding, and fabrication for ship repair, shipbuilding, and energy infrastructure. Wilson emphasized that the expansion will necessitate a larger workforce, and the company is focused on creating high-level jobs while also training entry-level employees. Eight of the new positions will be designated for trainee and apprenticeship roles, with on-the-job training included.
Support for recruitment and training will come from the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.
