The Space Race is heating up between UCF and Houston, with both schools leaning into their space-themed identities. UCF has embraced the “Space U” moniker and hosts an annual Space Game, while Houston, dubbed “Space City,” recently (and notably) disrupted UCF’s perfect Space Game record last November.
In preparation for the upcoming matchup, UCF unveiled new space-themed uniforms, adding to the excitement. Houston responded with its own unique twist, showcasing an alternate uniform featuring the “Gridiron Galaxy” collection of helmets, each representing a different celestial body, from the Sun to Pluto.
This rivalry may not yet be official, but both teams are eager to stake their claim in the field as they face off at TDECU Stadium in Houston. The game kicks off at 12 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN2. Who will ultimately take the lead in the Space Race?
