Alumnus Luke Delaney Embarks on Space Mission with Crew 13

On October 1, Deltona High School celebrated “Luke Delaney Day” in honor of astronaut Luke Delaney, a 1997 graduate, who launched into space with Crew 13. The school organized a watch party filled with space-themed snacks, star-shaped sunglasses, and assignments related to space exploration, allowing students to connect with Delaney’s achievements. Principal Christina Lapnow emphasized the mission’s importance in inspiring students about adventure, science, and exploration, while student Melanie Milly expressed how Delaney’s journey motivates her to strive for her dreams.
