The city of Brookings, in partnership with Missouri River Energy Services (MRES), has celebrated the completion of the Brookings Solar Project. This initiative introduces locally sourced energy to the area and features over 2,000 solar panels installed on approximately half of an 80-acre site.
Terry Wolf, VP and COO of MRES, highlighted the city’s significant role in the project, noting their collaboration on local distribution connections and ongoing maintenance support. As a result of this project, MRES’s solar capacity has increased by nearly one-third, reaching about 16 megawatts.
