Northrop Grumman is expanding its operations in Gilbert, Arizona, with a new 120,000-square-foot facility aimed at enhancing its satellite programs. This addition will provide office, integration, and testing space, complementing the existing workforce of over 1,000 employees in engineering and manufacturing roles.
The expansion is part of Northrop Grumman’s strategy to consolidate its operations in Arizona, which includes building rockets in Chandler and satellites in Gilbert. The company plans to transfer 350 jobs related to its Glide Phase Interceptor program from Chandler to the new Gilbert facility due to space constraints.
This move is expected to strengthen Northrop Grumman’s presence in the state, where it currently employs around 3,800 individuals and contributes approximately $5 billion to the local economy. Gilbert’s Mayor, Scott Anderson, emphasized the importance of attracting investment to the northwest area, hoping it will encourage local living for new employees.
