Ed Sheeran’s concerts in Foxborough, Massachusetts, scheduled for this weekend have been canceled due to a severe nor’easter hitting New England. The decision, made by concert promoter Messina Touring, prioritizes the safety of fans and staff amid warnings of strong winds and heavy rain.
The storm is expected to affect much of the East Coast, with gusts potentially reaching 60-65 mph on Cape Cod and around 50-55 mph in Boston. In addition to Sheeran’s concerts, the weather has also caused the cancellation of several music festivals in New York, including Global Citizen and All Things Go.
This cancellation follows a tumultuous period for Sheeran’s Loop Tour, marked by the dropping of Macklemore from the lineup after controversial comments, prompting other supporting acts to withdraw in solidarity. Sheeran has expressed his desire for his shows to promote unity, distancing himself from the political implications of recent events.
Refunds will be issued for the canceled concerts.
