BlackBerry raises its yearly revenue outlook.

BlackBerry recently raised its full-year revenue forecast after reporting record quarterly revenue from its QNX software division, which saw a 27% increase to $80.3 million in the second quarter. This growth was driven by demand in the automotive sector, especially as the industry shifts towards software-defined vehicles. Automakers like Audi, General Motors, Hyundai, and Mercedes-Benz are utilizing QNX in various systems including digital cockpits and advanced driver assistance.

The company now anticipates full-year 2027 revenue to be between $616 million and $636 million, up from previous estimates. Notably, BlackBerry secured a significant contract with Coretura, a partnership between Volvo Group and Daimler Truck, which could add over $100 million to its QNX royalty backlog. Second-quarter revenue of $163.3 million exceeded analysts’ expectations of $145.6 million. For the upcoming third quarter, BlackBerry forecasts revenue between $143 million and $154 million, slightly below the market estimate of $149.6 million.
