Nissan Launches Pixo Electric City Car for the European Market

Nissan is advancing its entry into the European A-segment electric vehicle market through a collaboration with Renault, unveiling the Pixo—a compact electric city car designed specifically for urban environments. Set to be produced at Renault’s Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia, deliveries are slated to begin in early 2027, with pricing details expected in December.

The Nissan Pixo features a 27.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, offering a range of up to 259 km. Fast charging at 50 kW allows the battery to charge from 15% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes, while standard 11 kW bidirectional charging is also included. Measuring 3,796 mm in length, the vehicle produces 60 kW and offers a spacious 356-litre boot.

Key features include automated emergency braking, lane keeping assist, e-Pedal technology, and Google built-in with Gemini. By sharing development resources with Renault, Nissan aims to enter the A-segment more swiftly, complementing its range of e-Power hybrids and enhancing its electrified offerings.

Massimiliano Messina, Chairperson of Nissan AMIEO, emphasized the Pixo’s design intent: to deliver a practical, streamlined EV experience tailored for European cities. As fuel costs continue to rise, he highlighted the growing necessity for electrified vehicles, positioning Nissan at the forefront of this transition.
