NASA and SpaceX Advance Final Preparations for Crew-13 Launch Scheduled for October 1

NASA and SpaceX are aiming for a launch of the Crew-13 mission to the International Space Station at 11:10 a.m. EDT on October 1. In the days leading up to the launch, teams will conduct various prelaunch activities to ensure the crew, SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft, and Falcon 9 rocket are ready for liftoff from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

If launched on October 1, Crew-13 will reach the ISS in less than nine hours, docking at around 8 p.m. at the Harmony module. The mission will feature NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney as commander and pilot, respectively, alongside CSA astronaut Joshua Kutryk and Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Teteryatnikov as mission specialists. Crew-13 members are currently in quarantine at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, preparing to move to Kennedy Space Center.
