Koshari, the Egyptian and Lebanese eatery, is relocating to a new spot in Ballard at 5604 17th Ave NW. Owned by Ayman Almasri and Amani Abouammo, the couple has crafted a menu inspired by their cultural backgrounds, beginning with local markets before moving to Salt & Sugar in September 2024. After leaving their previous location in August, they will take over the former Kahlo & Loyal space, which closed after five months.
The space has seen several businesses come and go, including Little Prague Bakery and the Corner Spot. In September, Koshari launched a GoFundMe campaign to help fund their new home, aiming for $30,000 to cover permits, kitchen equipment, and more. They’ve raised $5,490 so far but do not yet have a set opening date.
