Cross Colours is making a significant impact by celebrating Black culture and HBCU pride with their latest campaign, D9: For The Culture 2.0. Collaborating with Ray Cunningham from BET’s College Hill and fellow alumni from Virginia State and Hampton Universities, this campaign spotlights the contributions of historically Black Greek organizations.
Founded in 1989 by Carl Jones and TJ Walker, Cross Colours became synonymous with the hip hop fashion movement, promoting messages of unity and cultural pride through their bold designs. The campaign features notable figures like Brandy, who represented Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. during performances, along with other hip hop legends like MC Lyte and Yo Yo.
Moreover, the initiative showcases the beauty and impact of HBCU alumni, stressing the importance of authenticity and community in embodying Black excellence. Through this collaboration, Cross Colours continues to bridge the past and present of Black cultural expression in fashion.
