Canton Township in Washington County has declared a state of emergency due to severe rain and flooding, prompting some residents and businesses to consider relocation. John Zwicker, COO of RPM Industries, reported that the area has experienced four floods since their arrival, significantly impacting business operations. The flooding has forced companies like RPM to halt production and relocate materials to prevent damage. Despite appeals for flood mitigation assistance from local and federal entities, their requests have gone unanswered. Frustrated with the ongoing issues, Zwicker mentioned they are actively exploring new locations, emphasizing the strain on their workforce and local taxes.
