Lindblad Encourages Travel Advisors to Promote More Than Just Its Expedition Cruises

Lindblad Expeditions has made a significant move by acquiring a majority stake in White Desert and establishing a new adventure aviation company, Echo Charlie. This $67 million purchase marks the company’s largest expansion effort and emphasizes the growing demand for immersive travel experiences. CEO Natalya Leahy highlighted that travelers now seek deeper emotional connections with destinations rather than merely ticking boxes on a checklist.

While this acquisition boosts Lindblad’s portfolio of travel experiences—which includes adventures by ship, land, and now air—there remains substantial opportunity for growth in awareness among travel advisors about Lindblad’s diverse offerings. Currently, advisors are largely unaware of the land brands within Lindblad’s portfolio, which represent about 33% of revenue.

To address this, Lindblad is enhancing its outreach efforts, led by vice president Lesa Bain, to educate travel advisors on its full range of brands. Lindblad aims to cultivate partnerships and better inform advisors about the similarities in clientele between their sea and land offerings to drive awareness and sales.
