A juvenile driver tragically died in a single-vehicle crash at Gas City Park early Saturday morning. The incident occurred just before 3:30 a.m. when a 2021 Hyundai Elantra veered off the road and struck a tree. Preliminary investigations by the Indiana State Police suggest that speed may have played a role in the accident, and the Crash Reconstruction Team is still assessing the scene.
Despite emergency responders’ efforts, the Grant County Coroner’s Office declared the juvenile driver dead at the scene, with further information about their identity forthcoming. There were four other occupants in the vehicle, including three juveniles; two were airlifted to hospitals, while the others were transported by ambulance.
The investigation is ongoing, with assistance from local law enforcement and emergency services.
