John Torode expressed that he was “devastated” after being let go from BBC’s MasterChef, a show he co-hosted for 20 years alongside Gregg Wallace. The dismissal followed a review that corroborated accusations against Wallace for using “highly offensive racist language” during a 2019 wrap party, during which Torode reportedly participated.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Torode shared that he received the news while on holiday and felt completely shocked. He lamented the effort he invested in the show, claiming that the BBC “spat him out” with no prior warnings about his conduct.
Despite the upheaval, Torode is not pursuing legal action, preferring to avoid further conflict. He stated that it would take time to heal from the shocking situation. Currently, he runs a YouTube channel named John and Lisa’s Kitchen and Home with his wife, actress Lisa Faulkner.
Faulkner recently underwent surgery after being diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer.
