Gasgoo Munich – On September 17, the Doubao cockpit assistant officially launched, debuting in the SAIC Roewe Jiayue 07, with pre-orders commencing on September 21. This model, designated as an AI-native vehicle, integrates advanced AI capabilities throughout the vehicle’s perception, decision-making, and execution processes, moving beyond the typical cockpit applications.
Unlike most market offerings that treat large models as an infotainment add-on, the Jiayue 07 employs the CPP AI-native architecture. This architecture tightly integrates the Doubao assistant with vehicle control, navigation, intelligent driving, and service ecosystems, allowing AI direct control over the car’s hardware.
The Doubao assistant goes beyond mere software interaction by utilizing a dedicated physical screen to establish an “embodied” presence—combining hardware movements, dynamic expressions, and voice for a multidimensional, human-like interaction. The AI system autonomously triggers feedback tailored to driving scenarios, and its visual expression suite supports future OTA updates.
In multi-passenger scenarios, the assistant can identify occupants and remember individual preferences for seating, climate, and media to provide a personalized experience. For intelligent driving, the vehicle incorporates Momenta’s R7 world model and the XHEART X7 automotive-grade chip, which can handle over 300 types of parking spots and execute complex maneuvers, including vertical parking in tight spaces.
With a wheelbase of 2,908 mm, the vehicle’s exterior design is spearheaded by Jozef Kabaň. Its powertrain features an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) system that offers a pure-electric range of 320 km and a total range of 1,480 km, complemented by a range extender with a thermal efficiency of 48.1%. The vehicle also supports fast charging. By leveraging space and range effectively, this model transforms AI from a simple interaction tool into a central hub, paving the way for large-scale production of AI-integrated vehicles.
