Press Release Summary
Stand Up for Science promotes academic freedom through international collaborations. Founder Dr. Colette Delawalla recently visited Paris to discuss shared academic values and the impacts of anti-science movements with French parliament members. The discussions emphasized global democratic backsliding and the importance of defending democracy collaboratively.
Delawalla also spoke at the renowned Sciences Po as a keynote speaker, addressing recent legislation in France aimed at protecting academic freedom. She highlighted the importance of cross-border discussions on freedom of inquiry and scientific integrity.
In addition to these advocacy efforts, Stand Up for Science launched “America’s Compact For Higher Education” to counteract pressures on U.S. universities regarding policy changes tied to the current administration.
