Xpeng has launched the G9L, a flagship SUV that underscores a commitment to quality as it enters global markets. The G9L, measuring 5,120mm in length with a 3,100mm wheelbase, will be available in both battery-electric and range-extended versions. Production will occur in Guangzhou and at Magna’s Graz facility shared with luxury vehicles.
The G9L will be unveiled internationally on October 12 at the Paris Motor Show, with plans for a rollout to 64 markets. Xpeng has worked closely with Magna since a cooperation agreement was signed in September 2025.
Safety tests conducted across multiple international standards have earned the G9L a five-star rating, following extensive testing in 26 countries over 6.74 million kilometers.
Xpeng’s Chairman, He Xiaopeng, emphasized the company’s philosophy of “car as robot” and highlighted the integration of AI technologies in both its vehicles and humanoid robots. The G9L employs the VLA 2.0 AI model and shares a Turing AI chip with Xpeng’s IRON humanoid robot, indicating a convergence of automotive and robotics innovation.
