Weekend Freeway Restrictions: Sept. 18-21

PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Transportation has announced several closures and lane restrictions for various improvement projects on freeways in the Phoenix area this weekend. Here are the details:

Scheduled Closures:

1. Eastbound Interstate 10

   • Closed: Between I-17 “Stack” interchange and Washington/Jefferson streets off-ramp
   • Time: 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 19)
   • Purpose: Tunnel maintenance
   • Detour: Use southbound I-17 to reconnect with eastbound I-10 at the I-10/I-17 “Split” interchange by Sky Harbor Airport.

2. Westbound Interstate 10

   • Closed: From the I-10/I-17 “Split” interchange to the Seventh Avenue off-ramp
   • Time: 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 20)
   • Purpose: Tunnel maintenance
   • Detour: Use northbound I-17 to reconnect with westbound I-10 at the “Stack” interchange.

3. Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway)

   • Closed: Between Cooper and Alma School roads
   • Time: 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 21)
   • Purpose: Widening project
   • Detour: Use westbound US 60 from Mesa/Gilbert or Pecos/Germann roads from Chandler to reconnect at Alma School or Price roads.

4. Westbound Loop 202

   • Closed: Between US 60 and Alma School Road
   • Time: 10 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday (Sept. 20)

5. Westbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway)

   • Narrowed: To two lanes between I-17 and 51st Avenue
   • Time: 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 20)
   • Detours: Multiple on-ramps and off-ramps closed; consider using Union Hills Drive.

6. Southbound Loop 101 (Pima/Price Freeway)

   • Narrowed: To three left lanes between McKellips Road and Rio Salado Parkway
   • Time: 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 21)

7. Southbound State Route 51

   • Closed: From Glendale Avenue to Indian School Road
   • Time: 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 21)
   • Detour: Use 16th or 24th streets.

8. State Route 347

   • Narrowed: To one lane in both directions south of Casa Blanca Rd
   • Time: 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 21)

9. Eastbound Loop 303

   • Closed: From 43rd Avenue to just east of the I-17 bridge
   • Time: 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 21)
   • Detour: Use northbound 43rd Avenue.
