The Khalaf family has transformed a former strip club into a new business, Mo Money, that specializes in buying and selling jewelry, watches, and collectibles like gold coins and fossils, along with unique metal sculptures made in Thailand. Located on Flamingo Road near Las Vegas’s Strip, Mo Money opened last month, following extensive renovations of the previous location, Club Platinum.
The Khalafs invested nearly $2.4 million in purchasing the property and another $1 million for renovations. The store aims to provide a welcoming space for customers looking to sell valuables, with modern facilities to showcase items efficiently. Unlike typical pawn shops, Mo Money has a secondhand-dealer license and focuses on a specialty retail experience.
The family’s existing retail chain, Kalifano, is known for its distinctive, large-scale art pieces and various collectible items, including meteorite fragments and large quartz obelisks. They source their unique inventory from international suppliers and have established a presence in high-traffic tourist areas and shopping centers in Las Vegas and beyond.
The Khalafs emphasize their commitment to quality and customer service, aiming to create a more inviting atmosphere compared to the previous establishment. Their approach to the market reflects confidence in the demand for valuable items, especially amid economic uncertainty.
