Huntsville International Airport Sees Record Traveler Numbers
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Nearly 160,000 travelers flew through Huntsville International Airport in August, marking an increase of more than 4% compared to last year. This month also marks the airport’s seventh consecutive month of record-breaking traffic.
To accommodate the growing demand, crews are working on $160 million in terminal upgrades and a new parking deck.
Airport leaders believe these rising numbers strengthen their case for attracting more airlines and direct routes.
“Well, it’s great news. It’s another record month for us. We’ve had several record months in a row. That just shows I think that the airport here is working hard to add new flights, add new seats,” said an airport official.
