B&G Milkyway Owners Donate Property to Church

Local Business Gifted to Church for Community Impact

On September 14, 2026, franchisees Josh and Christie Aberson announced that they have gifted their B&G Milkyway location at 69th Street and Cliff Avenue to Celebrate Community Church. This decision stems from a spiritual calling the Abersons felt regarding the stewardship of their business.

In a statement, Josh expressed that, after considerable reflection, they realized their vision might have been limiting the store’s potential. “Our devotion to the success and growth of the store, its staff, and our community of customers was never in question,” he noted, adding that they felt called to allow the church to take the reins.

The store will continue to operate under the current management of David Hyde and his team, alongside an executive oversight committee led by Pastor Noah Rollins. Rollins emphasized that the initiative is not primarily about profit but rather about ministry opportunities. The church aims to use the store as a hub for serving people, creating meaningful job experiences, and supporting community causes.

All profits from the B&G Milkyway will be directed toward church-supported causes and community needs. “Imagine families from across our city walking into a business where they are welcomed, valued, and served well,” Rollins said, envisioning the store as a space for building relationships and demonstrating the love of Jesus.

Christie Aberson shared that it was an honor for their family to return the business to God. She expressed hope that their actions inspire others to consider how they might use what they have in service of the community.

Celebrate Community Church, located at 1000 S. Sycamore Ave. in Sioux Falls, has multiple campuses across the region. The Abersons believe this new chapter for the B&G Milkyway will create lasting, positive impacts in the local community.
