THOMASVILLE — Prince Automotive Group has made a significant donation of automotive parts valued at $378,240 to Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC). The contribution is divided between Prince of Tifton, which donated $208,370, and Prince of Albany, contributing $169,870.
This donation will enhance SRTC’s Automotive Technology program by providing students with hands-on access to real-world parts, components, and technical applications used in the industry today. SRTC offers Automotive Technology degrees, diplomas, and technical certificates on its Thomasville and Moultrie campuses.
The partnership is designed to bridge the gap between classroom instruction and the everyday realities of the automotive field, equipping students with practical experience crucial for their future careers.
Heather P. Stripling of Prince Automotive Group expressed pride in the donation, stating, “This donation matters to us because we are supporting our local technical school and helping provide students with the hands-on experience they need to succeed in the automotive workforce.”
SRTC President Jim Glass expressed gratitude towards Prince Automotive Group, noting, “Their support shows a strong commitment to workforce development and community growth. With this contribution, we’re giving our automotive technology students hands-on experience they need to succeed in the field.”
SRTC’s Automotive Technology Associate Degree program prepares students for various careers in automotive service and repair through a comprehensive curriculum combining theory and hands-on application. Over five semesters, students acquire the academic, technical, and professional skills necessary for job acquisition, retention, and advancement, ultimately graduating as qualified entry-level technicians.
