QuantrolOx is collaborating with UC Berkeley’s physics professor Irfan Siddiqi to enhance quantum research and development. Their partnership aims to industrialize quantum processing units (QPUs) through the application of software-defined quantum control.
According to Siddiqi, UC Berkeley is well-positioned to advance quantum information science through this collaboration, leveraging QuantrolOx’s commercial know-how and automation innovations.
QuantrolOx CEO Vishal Chatrath emphasized the urgency of addressing the shortage of qualified physicists for tuning qubits, especially with significant investments in quantum technologies expected to rise. He noted that Berkeley is a leading site for developing future quantum hardware.
Chancellor Rich Lyons expressed enthusiasm about QuantrolOx joining UC Berkeley’s advanced quantum ecosystem, highlighting the university’s commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration across academia, industry, and government for technological advancement.
