Cannabis Business Shut Down in Camillus for Illegal Sales
CAMILLUS, N.Y. — A local cannabis business, Greenhouse Convenience of CNY, has been forced to close following allegations of illegal activities, according to the Camillus Police Department.
The closure came after an investigation revealed that the business was reportedly selling cannabis to individuals under the age of 21, with some customers as young as 15. Additionally, the establishment was found to be operating without a valid license issued by the New York State Office of Cannabis Management.
The investigation was initiated after police received complaints about the unlawful sales. On August 18, authorities executed a search warrant at the business located at 3329 Milton Ave. in Syracuse, where they discovered:
- 2.2 pounds of cannabis flower
- 225 grams of cannabis edibles
- 716 grams of cannabis concentrate
The Camillus Police Department stressed the importance of adhering to state regulations. “The sale of cannabis in New York State is regulated by the New York State Office of Cannabis Management,” they stated. “Businesses selling cannabis are required to possess the appropriate state authorization, and it is illegal to sell cannabis to individuals under the legal age of 21.”
