Savannah Guthrie Makes Comeback on ‘Today’ After Hiatus – ‘Guess Who’s Back’ | Entertainment

Savannah Guthrie is back on “Today,” returning to the NBC morning show on September 8 after a two-week break. Co-anchor Craig Melvin welcomed her back, expressing that she was missed. During her absence since August 24, Kristen Welker and Laura Jarrett filled in for her.

Guthrie made a rare public appearance at the US Open on August 25 with her husband. She had taken previous time off to film a Wordle-based game show, which she expressed excitement about in July.

Earlier this year, Guthrie took two months off due to the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, since February 1. In August, she made an emotional plea for information regarding her mother’s case, highlighting her family’s ongoing turmoil. Guthrie shared that managing her work while grappling with her mother’s situation has been incredibly difficult.
