Hong Kong’s inaugural astronaut to host live space talk for students on Wednesday

On Wednesday morning, Hong Kong’s first astronaut, Lai Ka-ying, will deliver a live lecture from space to her alma mater and to students across the city and neighboring Macau. This event, part of the “Tiangong Class,” will include fellow crew members Zhu Yangzhu and Zhang Zhiyuan, and it will last 1½ hours, starting at 9:50 AM.

The Education Bureau has encouraged primary and secondary school teachers and students to watch the live broadcast on campus. Additionally, the lecture will be streamed online via the Information Services Department’s website and Facebook page, as well as on local TV stations.

The event is organized by the Hong Kong and Macau governments in collaboration with the China Manned Space Agency, and will feature expert talks, an in-orbit demonstration, and a Q&A session about the space environment. Representatives from the youth and innovation sectors, along with a delegation from Macau, will also be in attendance.
