Foton Introduces CAVAN BEACON at Hannover’s IAA Debut

Foton is making substantial strides in the European market, marked by a 44% surge in exports and the establishment of 32 overseas plants. The company is set to showcase its advancements at the IAA Transportation event in Hannover on September 14, highlighting the overseas debut of the CAVAN BEACON, a cutting-edge heavy truck designed for both battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell powertrains.

This event will commemorate Foton’s achievement of delivering its 13-millionth vehicle and introducing a new strategic direction for Europe. The exhibition will feature seven new-energy vehicle models and six core components tailored for European transport needs.

Foton has been a leader in Chinese commercial-vehicle exports for 15 consecutive years, evolving from product-led shipments to a comprehensive model that includes technology, manufacturing, supply chains, and services.

The company has secured EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval for several battery-electric light-duty trucks and vans, as well as VECTO certification for heavy-duty emissions, facilitating access to the European market. Their CAVAN New Energy products are now available in 15 European countries, Australia, and New Zealand.

From January to August 2026, Foton’s export volume reached 149,000 units, reflecting an impressive 44.3% increase year-over-year. This growth is underpinned by 32 manufacturing facilities in regions such as Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East, supplemented by a Regional Parts Distribution Centre in Unna, Germany, which ensures efficient parts supply across over 1,200 sales outlets and 1,500 service points in Europe.
