WINGS Caribbean is an initiative aimed at promoting and supporting women and girls in science throughout the Caribbean. It builds on a portfolio of UNESCO efforts that focus on empowering women at various stages of their scientific careers, from inspiring the next generation to enhancing the impact of established researchers.
Program Focus
- Target Group: Mid-career and advanced-career women researchers.
- Goal: To advance their research, align it with Caribbean priorities, and translate scientific contributions into leadership that fosters societal impact.
Implementation
The program is executed by the UNESCO Office for the Caribbean in collaboration with:
- The University of the West Indies, Mona, Faculty of Science and Technology.
- The Caribbean Academy of Sciences.
Fellowship Details
- Fellowship Streams: Aimed at enhancing scientific excellence and visibility of women in research.
- Funding: Each selected fellow will receive USD 10,000 for projects lasting up to 12 months.
Eligibility
Applications are open to women nationals from UNESCO Member States and Associate Members in the English-speaking and Dutch-speaking Caribbean.
