IKEA Encourages Hong Kong to “Create Room for Your Passions” in New Campaign with TBWA/Hong Kong

IKEA Hong Kong has introduced a new campaign titled “Make Space for What You Love,” focusing on enhancing happiness through effective use of space in the city’s cramped living conditions. In partnership with TBWA\Hong Kong, the campaign highlights IKEA’s deep connection to local life and addresses the evolving needs of Hong Kong residents.

With increasing competition emphasizing price, IKEA aims to redefine its narrative by emphasizing the value of creating personal, meaningful spaces rather than competing solely on cost. Julia Shen, Marketing Manager, notes the importance of cultural insight in forming a connection with customers, emphasizing the campaign’s focus on making homes personal and filling them with cherished items.

The initiative features four key narratives, each linked to a storage solution: TROFAST (celebrating resourcefulness), PAX (representing personal space), SKUBB (highlighting diverse personalities), and BILLY (honoring passions). These themes are showcased in a 20-second TV commercial, utilizing striking visuals that blend humor with genuine Hong Kong experiences.

William Chow, a Creative Partner at TBWA\Hong Kong, remarks on the emotional significance of storage solutions, emphasizing the personal attachments people have to their belongings. This campaign transforms IKEA’s offerings from mere storage solutions to meaningful tools for enhancing personal lives in Hong Kong.

For visual context, the campaign will be promoted across prominent Hong Kong locations and through digital platforms, reinforcing its connection to local culture.
