The Summit brought together over 300 leaders from various sectors to initiate sustainability-driven actions in line with the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Key outcomes included a declaration prioritizing sustainable infrastructure, responsible AI, and women’s empowerment, among others.
Expert groups were established to address sustainable energy and digital infrastructure while promoting goals such as green mining and biodiversity conservation. UN representatives emphasized that resilient infrastructure and international collaboration are vital for meaningful progress. They highlighted the importance of connecting China’s clean energy capabilities with developing nations, advocating for safety in infrastructure projects, and stressing that cooperation across sectors is essential for addressing complex global challenges.
The Summit was noted for fostering cross-border collaboration and regional stability, particularly in relation to China’s role in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
