A tragic accident occurred on Interstate 10 in Baker County, Florida, resulting in the death of a 29-year-old man from Dundalk, Maryland. The incident happened around 1 a.m. near mile marker 318 when the man lost control of his sedan while approaching another vehicle. His car collided with the left side of the second sedan, causing it to rotate and overturn. He was ejected from his vehicle, which came to rest on the north shoulder of the interstate, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Notably, he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The other sedan was driven by a 26-year-old woman from Jacksonville, who was unharmed, as was her 28-year-old passenger from Tampa; both were wearing seatbelts. Following the crash, the westbound lanes of I-10 were closed, diverting traffic onto U.S. Highway 90. The accident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol, with investigators working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. Next of kin had not yet been notified at the time of the report.
