A joint operation between the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and the Carson City Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the arrest of Richard West, Jr., a former Reno car dealership manager, on multiple drug-related charges. West was discovered unconscious in his vehicle outside the Valero gas station in Mound House, and authorities determined he was under the influence of fentanyl.
Upon searching his vehicle, deputies found fentanyl and methamphetamine. The investigation led to a hotel room at the Gold Dust in Carson City, where more meth and fentanyl were found, and a woman named Courtney O’Brien was arrested alongside West.
Richard West, Jr. faces several charges, including:
– Possession of a controlled substance (schedule I-II)
– Possession of controlled substance with intent to sell
– Possession of a dangerous weapon
– Possession of burglary tools
– Possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription
– Possession of drug paraphernalia
Courtney O’Brien has been charged with:
– Possession of a controlled substance (schedule I-II fentanyl)
– Possession of a controlled substance (schedule I-II meth)
– Possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription
– Possession of drug paraphernalia
Notably, West had previously been sentenced to two years in prison in 2017 for his involvement in a prescription drug ring.
