Importance of Voyager 1
Voyager 1 represents a key achievement in space exploration. Alongside its sibling, Voyager 2, it constitutes a groundbreaking mission to understand our solar system.

Record Holder: As of February 17, 1998, Voyager 1 became the farthest human-made object from Earth, and it is still operational, gathering data 15.9 billion miles (171.6 AU) away from home.

Power Constraints: Its power source, a radioisotope thermoelectric generator, is slowly diminishing, prompting NASA to turn off non-essential instruments to conserve energy. For instance, in April 2022, they shut down the low-energy charged particles experiment.
