A tragic crash in Zebulon early Saturday morning resulted in one fatality. A vehicle carrying five people veered off Doyle Road and collided with a tree around 1:15 a.m.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were hospitalized with serious injuries, as reported by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. There was also a child passenger in the vehicle, but their condition has not been disclosed.
Authorities believe that speed and alcohol may have contributed to the accident, and the investigation is still underway.
