Surveillance footage captured a bold smash-and-grab burglary at the Peotone Travel Center in Will County, about 45 miles southwest of Chicago. The incident occurred around 4:58 a.m. on Thursday, when five masked individuals entered the premises. They damaged video gaming machines with hammers and stole an undisclosed amount of cash, all while being inside the establishment for less than three minutes.
During the robbery, two suspects positioned themselves at the entrance, while another acted as a lookout near Wilmington-Peotone Road. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The suspects fled the scene in two Acuras, one white and one gray, both lacking license plates. Authorities are appealing to the public for information about the vehicles seen in the area that morning. Anyone with details is encouraged to contact Peotone police.
