Join us for the opening of “Unlikely Universes,” featuring Ann Tracy’s digital works on canvas, metal, and paper. During the reception, enjoy a musical interlude by the trombone quartet The Back Cove Bones at 7:00 PM.

About the Exhibition
Ann Tracy’s limited edition series is inspired by her photographs of colorful paint residue mixed with microplastics. These images evoke the cosmic beauty of Hubble Space Telescope photos and resonate with concepts from string theory, suggesting the existence of multi-universes beyond our perception.

Artist’s Statement
“I am a ‘tree-hugger’ and have been aware of the many environmental challenges we face since the 1970s. After moving to Rockport, I devised a low-tech studio practice to minimize environmental impact. My images of swirling colors reminded me of the universe captured by the Hubble telescope, leading me to contemplate the existence of multiple universes.”

A New England native, Tracy has exhibited internationally since her first show in San Francisco in 1998. She is involved in multiple art organizations and her work is featured at the Maine Art Collective Gallery.
