At this year’s Automechanika, The Future is NEUTRAL will feature expertise from its subsidiaries: THE REMAKERS, GAIA, INDRA Automobile Recycling, and OPISTO, showcasing the synergy of its industrial model to convert end-of-life vehicles into new resources.
Industrial Innovations for Sustainability
THE REMAKERS, a frontrunner in automotive remanufacturing, will reveal its new offering for the 6AM electric traction motor—a first for Renault Megane, Scenic, and Master vehicles in Europe. This innovation aims to bring motors back to market at performance levels equivalent to new ones, while reducing costs by about 30% and minimizing environmental impact. THE REMAKERS continues to lead in remanufactured components for electric vehicles.
Additionally, new Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) will be unveiled, highlighting the environmental advantages of remanufacturing across THE REMAKERS’ product range. Conducted by consultancy Quantis and adhering to ISO standards, these analyses—covering eight different types of remanufactured components—evaluate performance based on five environmental indicators.
Key Findings:
- Electric motor remanufacturing reduces environmental impact by at least 67%.
- Remanufactured power electronics for electric vehicles diminish impact by at least 47%.
These results provide critical data for insurers, fleet managers, and other professionals, offering a scientific basis for purchasing and repair decisions, and aiding in sustainability reporting under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
