Dallas Cowboys Boost Salary Cap Space Over Twofold with Three Key Moves Before 2026 NFL Season Begins

The Dallas Cowboys recently restructured the contracts of three players—DT Kenny Clark, CB DaRon Bland, and TE Jake Ferguson—resulting in over $19 million in additional salary cap space. This move has doubled their salary cap from approximately $14 million to over $33 million, raising speculation among fans about potential trades or acquisitions.

While some fans might assume these moves indicate imminent acquisitions, the restructures could also simply reflect proactive cap management. Unused cap space can roll over, allowing flexibility in future transactions. The Cowboys’ management has indicated they might be open to dealing future picks to enhance the current team.

In the meantime, while speculation is common, fans are advised to temper their excitement as such financial adjustments might have been planned regardless of potential trades.
