[Sports Chosun, Reporter Lee Ga-eun] Singer Jang Yoon-jeong candidly shared her perspective that celebrities must endure the challenges of public life, especially given their high earnings.

In a video titled “Why Are You the CEO?” released on her YouTube channel on September 3, Jang discussed her experiences with corporate representatives she had met through the web entertainment show Nego King. She recalled a touching interaction with a fan who, after hearing her songs, chose against suicide, underscoring her sense of responsibility as a public figure. “It makes me resolve to live as a good person,” she said, reflecting on how fans ascribe deep meaning to her life. To protect their expectations, she goes out of her way to behave responsibly in public.

Jang described celebrity life as “like living in a bathroom made of glass,” highlighting the constant scrutiny she faces. Responding to someone who commented on her difficulties, she stated, “When you’ve been doing it for a long time, you just get used to it.” She acknowledged the public’s expectation, saying, “If I earned that much money, I would just put up with it.”

Having debuted in 1999, Jang Yoon-jeong is known for hits like “Oh My,” “Jjan-jja-ra,” “Flower,” and “Call the Soul.” She married broadcaster Do Kyung-wan in 2013 and is a mother to two children. In 2024, she made headlines for purchasing a luxury penthouse in Seobinggo-dong for 12 billion won in cash.
