Several Businesses Targeted by Burglars in Danville – NBC Bay Area

In Danville, over 11 businesses were burglarized early Tuesday morning, leaving community members anxious. Among the affected were Hashiya Sushi and a neighboring Vietnamese restaurant, where thieves were seen on surveillance footage smashing doors and targeting cash registers.

Xu Xia, a worker at Hashiya Sushi, speculated that the burglars might be targeting Asian-owned businesses due to a misperception of higher cash presence. Other establishments impacted included a nail salon, a Thai restaurant, a Greek restaurant, and an Indian eatery.

One stylist, Connie Palomino, noted that the only items taken from her salon were a surveillance camera and snacks, humorously suggesting the thieves may have been hungry. The string of break-ins has prompted business owners to seek increased police protection. NBC Bay Area has yet to receive a response from the Danville police on the situation.
